The new 18-hole Playitas Golf course has been designed by popular Scottish golf course architect John Stainer Chilver, whose philosophy was to create a fair but demanding course that can claim all levels of a player.
The course has been beautifully shaped using the natural hills and valleys in contrast to the rugged surroundings; Volcanic mountains and ocean views can be enjoyed from almost every hole.
Perhaps the most memorable feature of the course has to be the formation of greens that require precision approach shots, the amount of plateaus and undulations combined with fast bent grass greens can cost even the best player those dreaded threes. putts.
Playitas Golf has four ponds and many gullies that come into play on all but five of the holes, so be prepared to stock up on balls at the pro shop before you start!!
Our favorite hole is No. 15, par 3, which at 169 meters with water before and to the right of the green and the predominant wind blowing from the left requires a precise and well-executed shot.
By modern standards the course is relatively short, with a Par 67 of 4824m, but an exciting mix of eight Par 3’s, seven Par 4’s and three Par 5’s make for a very enjoyable game of golf that every club will demand. from the bag.
