Summary
Golf Las Américas is a course located in the heart of Playa de Las Américas. Opened in 1998 and designed by the famous English golfer John Jacobs, it is a parkland type course where the management and maintenance staff are very proud of the way this course is maintained and preserved. With a great variety of fauna and a multitude of birds throughout the course, Golf las Américas is equally adaptable to all handicaps, whether high or low.
Design
The course is a Par 72 with 6,039 meters (6,604 yards) and 2 very different 9-hole combinations. Both the first and tenth tees are below and dominated by the impressive clubhouse. Although most consider the first round to be the most difficult, there are a few holes on the second round where positioning plays an important part of the game.
Our favorite holes
Hole 1 is a par 5 with a slight dog leg to the green. With water in between, positioning on your second or third shot will be everything on this hole if you want to make a par. But there is a risk and to get a birdie you will need to play above the lake that is protecting the green. Our other favorite hole is hole number 5 with its 190 meters, Par 3, which is also a hole with a lot of risk but whose reward is maximum if gets it.
