La Gomera

The island of La Gomera is one of the seven islands that make up the Canary Islands and its beauty will leave a very good and lasting impression on you. It is often described as a jewel of nature. You will have to make an imaginative effort to find words to describe its landscapes, its rainforest, its cliffs and its valleys.

It is not difficult to understand why La Gomera is chosen by many Europeans as a holiday destination for hiking. Not only the landscapes will leave a striking impression, but also the feeling of untouched and unspoiled nature that the island offers.

The golf course in La Gomera was built by the Olsen family who also owns the Hotel Jardín Tecina in Playa de Santiago next to Tecina Golf and also the boats that transport residents and tourists between all the Islands.

The island is easily accessible from Tenerife with crossings made 3 to 4 times every day by boats taking just 50 minutes.

La Gomera has an area of 369 square kilometers and its highest peak with its 1,487 meters is called Garajonay, located in the Garajonay National Park. The Garajonay National Park, a jewel of the natural heritage of the Canary Islands, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

It has one of the best kept secrets on the islands. The island’s cuisine is well known. And some ingredients such as cheese, mojo sauce, almogrote (typical pasta made with cheese, herbs and olive oil), its pastries and of course gofio (toasted flour from different cereals) are the hallmark of this beautiful island.
